Gambling revenues were up across the state for November compared to the same month last year and are up slightly from October as well, according to figures released Monday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The total take statewide was more than $452 million last month, a 4.6% increase over November 2021, according to the board. That is an uptick from October’s $450 million, which was itself about a 5.7% increase over October 2021.

Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack in Chester recorded total revenues of $17.3 million last month, a little more than the $17.1 million taken in October but up more than 2.5% from $16.9 million in November 2021.

Retail slots revenue statewide was flat for November 2021 and 2022, while retail table games dropped about 4.4%, but online iGaming revenues for both slots and tables saw leaps of 36.4% and 42.7%, respectively, from November 2021.

Online slots generated $86.6 million, up from nearly $63.5 million in the same month last year, and online table games brought in nearly $39.5 million up from $27.7 million in November 2021. Both still pale in comparison to “real world” revenues of more than $185.5 million for slots and $79.2 million in table games, however.

Sports wagering was also down 17% year-over-year and fantasy sports was down 24.7% despite a stellar season from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Harrah’s take for slots in November

was roughly $9.6 million, about a 9% drop from $10.5 million last year, while table game revenues fell sharply to $2.65 million, down nearly 34% from $4 million in 2021.

Harrah’s made that up and then some with a 73% increase in online gambling, though, which came in at more than $3.7 million this November compared to $2.14 million for the same month last year. That is also an increase from last month’s nearly $3.4 million in the digital realm.

Sports wagering, both online and in-person, topped $789 million statewide in November.

Harrah’s saw almost $31 million of that action for total revenues of about $1.38 million.

That is a 580% increase in revenues from November 2021, when Harrah’s took just $202,603. The figures statewide represent about an $8 million drop from October, though Harrah’s itself saw a fairly significant increase of about $3.4 million month-over-month.

Harrah’s was also one of only two operators to see year-overyear gains on sports betting for November.

Total tax revenue generated for the month across all forms of gambling and fantasy contests was roughly $181.8 million, the state said.
