Robinson was arrested in June following an undercover investigation by the Delaware County Drug Task Force.

FOLCROFT » A Philadelphia man who sold fake Percocet pills containing the powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl has been sentenced to five to 14 years in a state prison after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Yusef R. Robinson, 23, of the 1800 block of West Diamond Street, was also ordered to serve one year of re-entry probation, forfeit $1,368 and a cellphone, provide a DNA sample to state police and pay a $200 assessment under the negotiated plea worked out by Assistant District Attorney Andrew Todd and defense counsel Baltazar Rubio.

Robinson was arrested in June following an undercover investigation by the Delaware County Drug Task Force.

An undercover task force detective met with Folcroft Police Officer Thomas P. Kesser and arranged to make two buys of six total Percocet pills from Robinson on June 13 and 14, according to an affidavit of probable cause for Robinson’s arrest.

The affidavit gave this further account:

Both buys took place at a 7-11 on the 2000 block of Delmar Drive, according to the affidavit. Robinson arrived both times to deliver the pills driving a black Chrysler 300. The undercover detective paid $120 for three pills at each meeting.

Pills from each buy tested positive for the presence of fentanyl.

Kesser and other Folcroft officers raided a house on the 1100 block of Taylor Drive on June 16 and took Robinson into custody in a front master bedroom. A woman was also present and detained, but not charged.

Robinson directed officers to a closet, where they found a Ziploc bag containing 225 pills and another knotted sandwich bag containing 68 pills of a different type. One of the 225 pills tested positive for fentanyl and one of the pills in the sandwich bag tested positive for Oxycodone.

Robinson also told officers that he had cash and packaging materials in the Chrysler. He said he owns the vehicle but it is registered to a friend because he does not have a license.

A search of the vehicle turned up a wallet containing more than $1,000 as well as a large amount of new and used foil packaging material identical to that used in the undercover buys.

Police also recovered a cellphone that rang when it was called using the same number the undercover detective had called to initiate the buys.

Robinson was charged with four counts each of possession and delivery of a controlled substance, five counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility. The remaining charges were dismissed under the plea.

Robinson has been incarcerated at the county jail in Concord pending 10% of $400,000 since his arrest. He is not eligible for early release but was given credit for time served.
