$15K lost in phone scam, big money missing from safe

Dec. 7
Shoplifting: 39-year-old man from the 3800 block of Girard Avenue, Philadelphia was charged with retail theft from the Lowe’s in the 100 block of W. Township Line Road.
Safe not safe: A large sum of cash taken in the first block of South Eagle Road.
Forgery: In the 500 block of Washington Avenue, a check was reported to have been altered and cashed after it was mailed.
Forgery: In the 100 block of Marple Road, a check was reported to have been altered and cashed after it was mailed.
Burglary: In the 300 block of Brentwood Road, someone entered an unlocked residence and stole a backpack containing a Google Chromebook and house keys.
Dec. 8
Assault: In the first block of Manoa Road a resident was charged with simple assault and harassment.
Marijuana possession:
a 48-year-old man from Somers Point, N.J. was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the 1500 block of Sunny Hill Lane.
Shoplifting: A 41-year-old man from, Levittown, Bucks County, was charged with retail theft from Kohl’s in the 200block of West Chester Pike.
Fraud: A resident in the 600 block of Darby Road reported that $3,000 was removed from his checking account.
Fraud: A resident in the first block of Annabella Avenue said she received a phone call and was advised that her grandson was in a car accident and needed $15,000. The victim provided the money to an unknown female. The victim then received another call stating her grandson needed an additional $32,600. The bank denied the transaction and advised the victim of the scam.
Dec. 9
Public drunkenness: In the 300 block of Kenmore Road, a 31-yearold man from the 4400 block of Riverview Lane, Philadelphia, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
Dec. 10
No alcohol interlock: A 21-yearold male from the first block of Hastings Avenue, Havertown, was charged at Darby and Mill roads with driving an unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle without a court-required ignition interlock
Dec. 11
Shoplifting: A 32-year-old man from Seabright N.J. was charged with retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and false identification to law enforcement at Kohl’s in the 200block of West Chester Pike.
Shoplifting: A 28-year-old woman from the 2800 block of Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft at the same Kohl’s.
Theft: 100 block of Park Avenue, unlocked vehicle entered and a softball bag containing $200 worth of equipment was stolen.
Dec. 12
Theft: 100 block of Ormond Avenue, unlocked vehicle entered and $20 and loose change was stolen.
Fraud: In the 300 block of David Drive, a resident reported that someone used her debit card to purchase a Christmas tree without her permission or knowledge.
Identity Theft: A resident in the 600block of Valley Road reported that someone used his identity to open a Verizon account and purchase an Apple Watch.
Criminal Mischief: Two strands of Christmas lights were cut in the 100 block of Fairlamb Avenue. Police issued 20moving violations, 26 warnings, 2 nontraffic citations and 129parking tickets.
