PENNSYLVAN­IA FARM SHOW BEGINS ITS 107TH RUN ON SATURDAY

The following events are planned for this weekend throughout the region:

• The 107th installmen­t of the Pennsylvan­ia Farm Show opens Saturday and runs through Jan. 14 at the Pennsylvan­ia Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, Harrisburg. The Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultur­al exposition in the nation, featuring nearly 4,000 animals, 12,000-plus competitiv­e events and exhibits, plus 245 commercial exhibits and hundreds of educationa­l and entertaini­ng events. The event showcases the quality and breadth of Pennsylvan­ia’s agricultur­e industry and the people who make it thrive, offering visitors a tiny slice of the industry that employs nearly half a million people and contribute­s $185 billion to Pennsylvan­ia’s economy every year. Hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, except Sunday, when it runs 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 14, when it opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 5p.m. The Food Court in the Expo Hall will be open from noon to 9 p.m. this Friday. The Greater Philadelph­ia Spring Home Show

will be held Friday through Sunday at Valley Forge Casino Resort. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The show is designed for homeowners who are in all stages of remodeling, landscapin­g and decorating their homes. It includes home improvemen­t and remodeling exhibits with product demonstrat­ions and sample interior and exterior vignettes. Many of the exhibitors go to great

lengths to provide visitors with visual, interactiv­e experience­s designed to stimulate creativity. Admission is free with online registrati­on at www. greaterphi­llyhomesho­ws-vf. com/free-pass, or $10 at the door.

Kennett Flash, Kennett Square, presents a CD release celebratio­n

for the late West Grove musician Billy Penn Burger’s longawaite­d record, “Carry On,” on Friday at 8 p.m. With original tracks recorded prior to his passing in 2018, the CD has been produced and completed by his wife, Terrie, and best friend, Steve Prenti. Featured artists at the show will be Scott Birney, Tom Hampton, Rob Swanson, Sharon Sable, Steve Prentice, Chris Sherlock and Nick Bucci. Tickets are $25, plus $5 for BYOB. Rivet: Canteen & Assembly, Pottstown, is joining forces with Grammy-nominated producer/ engineer David Ivory

to present a special Saturday night event featuring eight artists: Walt Lafty, Maro Delo, Supreem Da Rezarekta, Midnight Doobie Pool Party, Jon DeLise, Summer Ashley, Vanilla Chau and Sashea. Ivory engineered and produced several

Gold- and Platinum-selling albums, and has discovered and cultivated new talent such as Halestorm and Silvertide, whose Walt Lafty will be among the featured performers Saturday. The Keswick Theatre, Glenside, presents YYNOT’s tribute to Rush

with special guests Mike Portnoy, Frank Bello, Jason Bittner, Jon Dinklage, Joe Bergamini, John Wesley and Seven Antonopoul­os on Saturday at 8 p.m. The charity concert to benefit Cedars Sinai Hospital is a celebratio­n of the life of the late Rush drummer Neil Peart on the third anniversar­y of his passing. with Two Guys Comedy

Show with Tom Briscoe and Mark Riccadonna today at 8 p.m. Briscoe and Riccadonna bring original stand-up, classic jokes, sketches and stories to every show. After solo standup sets, they will goad, cajole and sometimes taunt each other to hilarity. On Friday at 8 p.m., the Philadelph­ia band Stereo League headlines, with opener The Tinsburys. Stereo League, who have been named Artist to Watch by Philadelph­ia radio station WXPN, believe their latest EP, “Endless Mirage,” to be the clearest and best representa­tion of their vision to date, delivering the soulful sound they have been searching for. On Saturday, High Noon presents its tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Southern rock with shows at 3 and 8 p.m. And on Sunday at 8 p.m., Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder headline at 8 p.m., with opener the Ruta Beggars. • Ardmore Music Hall presents a Southern rock night on Friday at 7:30 p.m., with Street Survivor paying tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Remedy performing the music of the Black Crowes and Pure Petty honoring Tom Petty. SoulJoel’s Comedy Club at Sunnybrook, Pottstown, presents Tyler Fischer on Friday at 8 p.m. and Joey Gay on Saturday at 7 p.m. Fischer is an actor, stand-up comedian and viral content creator who has performed stand-up on “America’s Got Talent,” been a guest star on NBC’s “Chicago Med,” TV Land’s “Younger” and Netflix’s “Startup.” He is known for his viral content, with over 200 million views on his prank, sketch and celebrity impression videos. Gay, the youngest of six children and only boy in his family, is accustomed to seeing life as an outsider.
