Theodore S. “Ted” Melnychuk, Esq. 74 of Glen Mills, died on February 6, 2023 at his home.

He was raised in Ridley Park and lived in Glen Mills from 1976 until his death.

Ted began his career as a Public Defender in Media followed by private practice until his retirement. He was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1966, Villanova University with a BA degree and Creighton University where he earned his Masters in history and his Law Degree.

Ted was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Delaware County Bar Associatio­n. He loved travel (Europe, Ukraine, Peru, Egypt, river cruises and countless road trips), history, reading, Old Fashioneds and Villanova basketball. His gregarious personalit­y always lit up the room.

Ted was the son of the late Nicholas and Olga Chawaga Melnychuk and brother of the late Dennis N. Melnychuk.

Ted is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen Smith Melnychuk; his daughter Dr. Jennifer O. Melnychuk, M.D. (Bradford C. Sukala); nephews Marc N. Melnychuk (Kiki) and Christophe­r J. Melnychuk (Natasha); great nieces and nephew Alexa, Maddie, Maggie, Danny and Grace, along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation 6:30 until 8:30PM on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park with Parastas at 7:30PM. Divine Liturgy 10:00AM Saturday, February 11, 2023 at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2412 W. Third St., Chester, PA where relatives and friends may call after 9:00AM. Burial Lawn Croft Cemetery.
