Kauffman’s record leads Ridley Twp. win

Emma Kauffman set a pool record in the novice girls division Thursday night as Ridley Township swept a tri-meet in the Delco Diving League.

Ridley topped Tinicum, 35-23, and Karakung, 3225. Karakung bested Tinicum, 33-19.

Kauffman scored 78.15 points to put her name on the record board.

Ridley won four of six divisions. Ella Deitz won the junior girls competitio­n in 141.50. Mason Deitz claimed the junior boys division with a score of 98.10. The senior girls division went to Kacey Lenz and her score of 187.15.

Karakung’s Ben Howart won the novice boys division. Kylie Arnott won the senior boys competitio­n with a score of 209.80.

Ridley Park’s Mu’Nairah Saleem nearly crossed the 200-point threshold in winning the senior girls division with 197.60 points.

Ridley made hay in the novice division, with Elsie Reed (58.35) leading the girls and Anthony Crisculuo (59.40) taking boys gold.

Lea Stout prevailed in junior girls competitio­n with 98.90 points.

Lansdowne’s wins were both on the boys side of the draw. Cody Nardizzi scored 114.60 to claim the junior division, then Sebastian Foreman tallied 164.80 in senior boys competitio­n.

Baseball

Kenny Jensen carried a nohitter into the sixth inning, and his team backed him with plenty of offense in an 11-1 win for Brookhaven 1 over Aston 2 in Mid-County Senior action late Friday night.

Jensen settled for a onehitter with eight strikeouts. Randy Blanda had two hits and scored three runs. Cody Herestofa went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

BROOKHAVEN 12, BROOKHAVEN 1 0 » Andrew Baldini had shut down said Brookhaven 1 bats the night before, throwing a two-hitter over five innings for Brookhaven 2. Baldini added two hits and four RBIs.

Jackson Messick had two hits and two runs scored, and Nate DiProjetto added two RBIs for Brookhaven 2.
