Here’s where you can see fireworks
Here is a list of upcoming large fireworks displays scheduled for today’s holiday and beyond in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.
Whether you want to travel to see the bright light for the Fourth of July or want to make you or your pets are far from the booming explosions, this is the schedule of fireworks in the region.
If you are wondering if it is legal for your neighbor to be setting off his or her own backyard fireworks, the Pennsylvania law is fairly clear when it comes to the use of consumer fireworks. They are defined as firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets and similar fireworks that contain a maximum of 50 milligrams of explosive material. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, they cannot be discharged within 150feet of a building or vehicle regardless if the building or vehicle is owned by the user of the consumer fireworks; be ignited or discharged on public or private property without express permission of the property owner; be directed at another person; or be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance or another drug.
Anything large — containing more than 2grains or 130milligrams of explosive materials — and professional-grade aerial shells containing more than 60grams of pyrotechnic compositions, are still only to be used by professionals with a permit from the municipality where the display will take place. Contact your municipality’s law enforcement if you believe there is a violation.
