Merry Christmas Fund takes another big step

CHESTER » Salvation Army members and volunteers will be out Friday completing the final rounds of senior citizens food basket deliveries ahead of Christmas, their efforts supported by donations to the 2023 Merry Christmas Fund. While the food baskets and toys are now in the hands of area 460 families, the Salvation Army Chester Corps will continue to accept donations through New Year’s

Day to support its shelter, food programs and other efforts. As deliveries wrap up, the fund sits at 36% of its goal.

Today’s donors to the fund are:

• Robert and Margaret Rooney of Ridley Park, $200: In memory of Sharon Rooney, James Rooney, Marie Notar.

• The Ellis Family of Folsom, $100: In memory of Mary Ellis, Donald Kerr and Suzanne Kerr.

• Michael and Carol Ann Kruklis of Springfiel­d, $100: In loving memory of Ed and Edna Roberts.

• Joyce and Jim Brown of Aston, $50: Merry Christmas!

• Anita Jean Doney of Norwood, $50: In memory of Frank Yeager.

• Patricia McCullough of Springfiel­d, $50: Merry Christmas!

The Daily Times will provide daily updates showing the amount of donations received and list the names of contributo­rs to the

Merry Christmas Fund. Those who wish to be recognized should include a brief holiday message with their donations.

Donations can be sent in the form of checks or money orders to Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1032, Brookhaven, PA 19015. Please do not mail donations to the Daily Times.
