Moore pours in 15 points, helps lead ’Nova past Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. » Justin Moore scored 15 points to help lead Villanova past Providence 71-60 on Saturday.

Moore hit on four of six 3-point efforts, as the Wildcats went to 17-12 overall, 10-8 in the Big East. Eric Dixon added 11 points and Mark Armstrong registered 10 points.

Josh Oduro finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and two blocks for the Friars (1811, 9-9). Devin Carter added 13 points, nine rebounds and three steals, while Davonte Gaines finished with 11 points and two steals.

Nova trailed 37-34 at the half, but went on an 18-2 second-half run to nail down the victory. SAINT JOSEPH’S 82, FORDHAM 69 » Kacper Klaczek scored 16 points off the bench to give the Hawks (18-11, 8-8 Atlantic 10) the lift they needed.

Cameron Brown scored 15 points and Erik Reynolds II made four 3-pointers on the way to 14 points.

Lynn Greer III scored 12 points in the first half as the Hawks took a 46-29 lead at the break and extended that bulge to 20 points down the stretch.

DREXEL 73, NORTHEASTE­RN 59 » Luke House (Archbishop Carroll) scored 23 points and Lucas Monroe added 18 as the Dragons improved to 20-11, 13-5 in the CAA.

TULSA 72, TEMPLE 67 » Cobe Williams scored 21 points to lead the Golden Hurricane (1514, 6-11 AAC) to the victory.

The Owls (11-18, 4-12) were led by Hysier Miller, who recorded 19 points, four assists and two steals. Joran Riley added 12 points for Temple, while Jared Garcia scored 14 for Tulsa. LA SALLE 72, GEORGE WASHINGTON 66 » Anwar Gill and Khalil Brantley scored 15 points each as the Explorers leveled their season log to 15-15, and 6-11 in the Atlantic 10.

Brantley added seven rebounds and six assists, while Rokas Jocius scored 13 points for La Salle.

An eight-game losing streak finally went off the board for La Salle, which defeated Fordham 93-83 on Saturday.

The Explorers were led by Nicole Melious, who scored 28 points. Tiara Bolden added 25 points while Emilee Tahata added 14 as La Salle improved to 7-21 on the season.

SAINT JOSEPH’S 77, DUQUESNE 73 » Laura Ziegler scored a career-high 27 points and Mackenzie Smith added 24 points as the Hawks (26-4, 15-3 A-10) tied the program record for victories in a season. They secured a double-bye entering next week’s Atlantic 10 Tournament.
