Whitaker’s two goals, 100th career point highlights EA victory

Quinn Whitaker reached a career milestone as Episcopal Academy defeated Notre Dame Prep (Md.), 8-4, in girls lacrosse action Saturday.

Whitaker, who scored two goals, recorded her 100th career point. Sydney Richter and Sofia Gagliardi also had two goals for the Churchwome­n.

nonleague

Carroll held a 9-1 lead after the first period and won handily. Sam Hewitt recorded a hat trick.

Greta Potten, Morgan Wood, Claire Sexton (four assists), Kaylee Clark and Brooke Hippert all scored twice for the winning Patriots.

Claire Lynch registered a four goals and Devin Buggy, Allie Hunter, Maddie Kane (two assists) and Kylee O’Donnell (two assists) all posted a hat trick for the Cougars. Goalies Geena Augello and Madison McBride combined for 10 saves.

Keira McHugh led the Irish with five goals and four draw controls. Riley Davis pitched in three goals and goalie Morgan Kelly had eight saves.

Chloe Brown had three goals, four draw controls, four groundball­s and two caused turnovers for the losing Pioneers.

Hilary Elser reached two personal milestones for the Fords, registerin­g her 100th goal and 100th draw control. She had three goals and one assist.

Mariyn Dwyer’s effort wasn’t enough for the Owls. Blair Fox added a goal, an assist and five draw controls.

Boys Lacrosse

Christian McNichol produced six goals and one assist in Cardinal O’Hara’s 8-3 win over New Hope-Solebury.

Ryan Crowley and Connor Bray each had a goal and an assist for the Lions. Andrew Graney notched three assists and Nick Hanna stopped seven shots in net.

McNichol and Crowley each had a four-goal games in O’Hara’s 15-2 rout of Upper Darby Friday. Connor Bray netted a hat trick and Matt Donohue contribute­d two goals and one helper.

In other nonleague action:

Adam Kilpatrick, Kristos McKendry, Nils McCallion and Liam Taylor all finished with two goals and two assists for the Fords. Wade Devitis made nine saves.

Brian Box spearheade­d the Tigers’ attack ith five goals and one assist. Brett Wolski scored twice and Ryan Keating provided a goal and three assists. Goalie Marco D’Alicandro thwarted eight shots on net.

Dylan Jaszcz six-goal performanc­e powered the Churchmen to victory at the Inter-Ac Challenge. Colin McGrath (one assist) and John Malone each had two goals.

Softball

Interboro commenced the 2024 regular season with a 13-0 trouncing of Kennett.

Mare Nagle led the Bucs’ offensive onslaught with two triples, a double and four RBIs. Erin O’Shea added two hits, including a two-bagger, and three ribbies.

Jules Bergen (four innings, one hit, seven strikeouts) excelled from the circle and was 3-for-3 at the plate.

Anna Sareyka (double) and Zoey Rogers had the only hits for the Jaguars.

Baseball

Brandon Dunbar’s steal of home in the bottom of the seventh inning gave The Haverford School a 5-4 victory over Central Bucks East.

Connor

Scanlan

(two hits) and Jaidyn Rivera (two RBIs) paced the Haverford offense.

Kevin Reavy tossed four solid innings of one-run ball, striking out six, and Fred Jordan pitched three to earn the win in relief.

Boys Tennis

Garnet Valley’s top-two singles Ashrith Settivari and Shiven Patel were love-love winners in a 7-0 decision of Kennett.

Rithik Brahma earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles, and Vishal Brahma and Arnav Agarwal cruised 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles match.
