An 18-year-old Chester woman pleaded guilty to attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a minor for a January 2022 robbery and shooting on the 1200 block of Crosby Street.

Amiyah Chandler of the 1100 block of Thomas Street was a minor at the time of the offense

According to an affidavit of probable cause for her arrest written by Chester Detective Brian Pot:

The victim was delivering food about 5 p.m. on Jan. 15 in the area of 13th and Crosby streets when he was approached by a person wearing all black.

The interaction was captured by video surveillance, and showed the victim walk away after a few minutes. After what appeared to be an argument, a brief scuffle ensued between the two. The person in black then produced a firearm and shot the victim.

The driver ran around his car and fell to the ground. The shooter pursued him and fired several more times into the victim’s back while he was prone.

The surveillance video captured the shooter initially getting out of a gold Buick, which she returned to and drove away in.

The victim was treated at Crozer Chester Medical Center, but was able to relay that he was making a delivery when he was robbed and shot before going into surgery.

The Buick was tracked to an address on the 400 block of Colwyn Avenue in Darby the same day, where it was recovered. A search warrant was served on an address in that same block.

Chandler was found inside along with a .380 handgun, which Delaware County Detective Louis Grandizio matched to four shell casings found at the crime scene.

Chandler, who was 16 at the time, was charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, four counts of robbery, possessing instruments of crime, firearms carried without a license and possession of a firearm by a minor.

The remaining charges were dismissed under the open guilty plea Chandler entered before Common

Pleas Court Judge Margaret Amoroso on Wednesday. Amoroso noted the two counts she pled to carry a maximum penalty of 45 years in prison.

Defense attorney Jeffrey Gold said Chandler was under the supervision of juvenile court at the time of the shooting.

Deputy District Attorney Geoff Paine said he would have that issue resolved ahead of sentencing, scheduled for the week of July 15.
