Goldt, Lopez boost GV past Ridley

Drew Goldt had a hand in six goals, and Kai Lopez dominated possession as Garnet Valley outlasted Ridley, 10-9, Thursday night in a Central League boys lacrosse game.

Goldt paired four goals with two assists. Lopez was 20-for-23 at the X to go with a goal and an assist. Luke O’Donoghue paired three goals with two assists, and Ethan Potochar scored twice.

Jake Keller led Ridley with four goals. Chris Capozzoli had a goal and two assists.

Also in the Central League: PENNCREST 6, HAVERFORD 5 » Spencer Meile scored twice, Aaron Goldstein dished three assists and Caden Pauksits stopped 12 shots to lead the Lions.

Adam Kilpatrick and Liam Taylor scored twice each for the Fords. Wade Devitis stopped 17 shots.

Evan Kostack tallied five goals and an assist as the Tigers scored the game’s first 16 goals.

Jace Kostack and Ryan Keating each tallied hat tricks. Brian Box paired two goals with two assists. Marco D’Alicandro stopped seven shots.

SPRINGFIEL­D 18, UPPER DARBY 1 » Iggy Bradley notched two goals and three assists to lead the Cougars. Brad Barber (two assists), Pat Flaherty (assist), Jared Kennedy and Joey Cicala scored twice each.

CONESTOGA 5, STRATH HAVEN 3 » Gabe Broome scored twice and Sean Henry added a goal, but the Panthers couldn’t overcome a sturdy Stoga defense in a defensive battle. The Pioneers scored three goals in the opening 8:13, with senior Clif Hawkins and freshmen Nate Mercaldo and Liam Donovan doing the honors.

In nonleague action:

SCHOOL 8 » Parker Smith scored five times, and Jackon Orcutt matched three goals with three assists as the Churchmen doubled up the hosts.

Dylan Jaszcz scored twice. Blake Riley had a goal to go with a 12-for-17 day at the X. Jack Guido made eight saves.

Baseball

16, PERKIOMEN

Gavin Brown tripled and scored a run in addition to five solid innings on the hill as Penncrest topped Harriton, 6-1.

Brown scattered three hits, one unearned run, two walks and six strikeouts

over five quality innings. He was the beneficiar­y of a Penncrest five-spot in the bottom of the fifth to break a tie.

Nico Tozzi and Lucas Punzo each contribute­d a run and an RBI. Ben Ettien broke the game open with a two-run single in the fifth. Ben Pennoni had two hits and scored a run for the Lions (3-1, 2-0 Central).

Bennett Cox went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs as the Tigers romped behind a 14-spot in the first inning.

Lucien Burger was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Paul DeFruscio scored twice to go with two RBIs. Jackson Burger scored three runs. Aidan Curran drove in three runs and tossed three innings of one-hit ball for the win.

In nonleague action:

GLOUCESTER CATHOLIC

SCHOOL 1 » Four walks leading to two runs without the benefit of a hit in the first inning put the Fords down from the very start against the Jersey power.

Thomas Lawler supplied an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh to prevent the shutout, scoring Eddie Kohn. Zac Fuscaldo also doubled. Gloucester’s Tate Derias struck out 11 over six shutout innings.

Softball

5, HAVERFORD

Maggie Coupe doubled twice and drove in four runs as Marple Newtown rode and 11-run first inning to top Chichester, 18-3.

Grace Corner doubled and drove in three runs. Kaylen Hushen walked twice and scored four times. Amanda O’Keefe and Mia Dalessandr­o scored three times each, O’Keefe adding two hits, including a double. Coupe tossed three solid innings.

Riley Harris and Jennifer Tatro drove in runs for Chi.
