Red Cross aiding family of 4 after fire in Lansdowne
The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania said Sunday it is helping a family of four in the wake of the house fire in the 200 block of Windermere Avenue, Lansdowne.
Firefighters were called to the burning duplex about 5 p.m. Saturday.
Both sides were reported to be on fire as well as vehicles near the residence. There was also an explosion prior to the crews arriving.
Heavy hoarding conditions were also reported.
Crews battled the flames for more than an hour before getting the upper hand and beginning the overhaul process.
A dozen stations were involved in the firefighting.
