Radnor has opened up a new way for people to pay its parking meters.

Earlier this month, Radnor Township announced that it had switched to a new parking app called ParkMoble.

“Starting today, the ParkMobile app is available for on-demand parking at 900 on-street and off-street parking spaces throughout the town. Users can now pay for parking digitally via ParkMobile by entering the zone number posted on nearby signage directly into the app or mobile web browser,” township officials said in a press release announcing the new app.

“For over 15 years, ParkMobile has been the trusted mobility management platform for cities across North America. We’re working toward our goal of making cities more livable by enabling cities to better manage their curb space to create an improved traffic flow and driver experience,” said David Holler, vice president of sales at ParkMobile, in the township press release. “Through the integration of our platform, Radnor’s residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a seamless parking experience.”

In a township video about the change, Amy Lacey, assistant finance director for Radnor, said switching to the ParkMoble app will save the township money.

“Engaging ParkMobile as Radnor’s parking app payment option will save us 12 percent in credit card fees, which is a significant savings for the township, Lacey said.

Michael Maratea, supervisor of parking and auxiliary services in Radnor, outlined some benefits of switching to ParkMobile.

“ParkMobile is a free app to let you park, pay, and extend your parking session from your phone with a few clicks. It’s a great option for visitors to our busier shopping areas who want to get in, out, and all with their day without waiting in line at a kiosk,” Maratea said.

According to township officials, several communities throughout the area are already using the app.

“Through our partnership with ParkMobile, our residents and visitors will benefit from the trusted technology used by over 1 million users across Pennsylvania,” said Radnor Township Manager Willliam M. White. “We’re thrilled to bring ParkMobile to Radnor, so our drivers can park in township spaces with ease and peace of mind.”

ParkMobile, is available for both iPhone and Android devices, and can also be accessed on a mobile web browser. To pay for parking via the ParkMobile app or website, users will enter the zone number or scan the QR code found on the signs located within the parking lot, choose the duration of time they wish to park and touch the “start parking” button.
