Haverford’s Hoffman perfectly unhittable in win over Harriton

Haverford High’s Will Hoffman pitched a seven-inning perfect game Wednesday, fanning 15 of the 21 batters he faced in the Fords’ 7-0 victory over Harriton.

Ryan Cassidy went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Fords (9-41), who have reeled off five straight wins

In other Central League action: RIDLEY 10, UPPER DARBY 1 » Danny Stickney pitched five no-hit innings, striking out seven, and helped his cause with a single and three RBIs. John Teehan (double) and Bobby Doherty each had a pair of hits for the Green Raiders.

Jimmy Anderson struck out 12 batters in a no-hit performanc­e for the Knights (2-7). Zahmir Lattimore ignited the AP offense with two hits and two RBIs.

In the Bicentenni­al League:

WESTTOWN 3, DELCO CHRISTIAN 1 » Cody Dill and Sam Dixon both singled and doubled for the Knights. Jackson Lewis also doubled, and Caleb Jameson pitched well in defeat.

In nonleague action:

RADNOR 8, INTERBORO 4 » Blake Havertine was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits and striking out three over four innings.

Matt Zaslow smacked a two-run single for Radnor (7-5). Joe Krasowski added an RBI double and Jake Lovenguth scored three runs.

Softball

Episcopal Academy junior Maddie Masiko recorded 16 K’s in a six-inning no-hitter against Penn Charter. In the 10-0 win, the defending Inter-Ac League champs plated six runs in the second inning, never looking back. Freshman Maia Contreras had a two-run hit.

Sophia Santinelli (two RBIs) and Anna Hennessey (two runs scored) both collected two hits for EA. Hanna Mae Legaspi ended the game with an RBI double.

In the Del Val League:

INTERBORO 16, ACADEMY PARK 0 » Sam Stavola earned her first varsity win with a three-inning, one-hit shutout of the Knights. She struck out five.

Mare Nagle had a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs. Summer Burrell also legged out a triple and knocked in three runs for the Bucs.

In the Central League:

SPRINGFIEL­D 11, RIDLEY 4 » The Cougars broke a 3-3 tie with eight runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Ava Craddock went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Ryleigh Frye drove in three runs with two doubles. Juliet Trivarlli added three hits, including a two-bagger, and Adrianna Maccario finished 2-for-3.

Girls Lacrosse

Vanessa Amalfitano scored five goals to help lead Chichester to a 9-6 win over Academy Park in Del Val League play. Natalia Willoughby had three goals for the Eagles.

Chloe Bleckley accumulate­d four goals and Sam Hewitt went for three goals and six assists as the Patriots won for the 283rd consecutiv­e time against a Catholic League opponent.

RIDLEY 21, UPPER DARBY 1 » Callie Bryan produced three goals and Abby Axe (three assists), Nadia Henkel (two assists), Brynn Murray and Nevaeh Walsh all scored two times.

SPRINGFIEL­D 11, HARRITON 6 » Emma Barrett netted four goals and Devin Buggy added a hat trick for the Cougars. Goalkeeper Maddy McBride made eight saves.

RADNOR 11, GARNET VALLEY 5 » Goalie Merrin Mink registerd her 100th save, but the Jaguars couldn’t keep pace with the Raptors.

Mia Raucci and Ryann Razzano had two goals apiece for Garnet Valley. No Radnor stats were reported.

MARPLE NEWTOWN 20, HAVERFORD 13 »

Hilary Elsner racked up four goals, four assists, 18 draw controls and six grounders as the Fords fell to the Tigers. Annie Walker had a hat trick in the loss.

CONESTOGA 14, LOWER MERION 4 » Kiki Liebezeit led the Pioneers with four goals. Ellie Wisch (five draw controls) and Chloe Brown (one assist) each scored twice.

In the Inter-Ac: AGNES IRWIN 14, SPRINGSIDE-CHESTNUT HILL 8 » Mairyn Dwyer amassed four goals, while Caroline Chisholm and Ella Springer each scored twice for the Owls. Blair Fox chipped in a goal, five ground balls and 11 draw controls.

Boys Lacrosse

Buoyed by Joey Yukenavitc­h and Alex Chambers, Marple Newtown cruised past Haverford High, 12-3, in Central League action.

Yukenavitc­h totaled four goals and three assists, while Chambers was 18-for18 on faceoffs. Other standouts for MN included Jace and Evan Kostack, each of whom had two goals and an assist.

Nils McCallion, Kristos McKendry and Liam Taylor netted a goal apiece for the Fords.

RIDLEY 17, UPPER DARBY 2 » Luke Showalter had four goals and an assist and Chase Barnard found the back of the net twice.

PENNCREST 8, HARRITON 5 » Owen Thompson, Shane Worley and Spencer Meile all had two goals for the Lions. Caden Paukstis stopped seven shots in net.

RADNOR 14, GARNET VALLEY 6 » Kai Lopez had two goals and 14 faceoff wins for the Jaguars in a losing effort.

Boys Tennis

Garnet Valley crushed Harriton, 7-0, in a Central League contest Wednesday.

Asrith Settivari, Shiven Patel and Rithik Braha were successful in singles competitio­n. Settivari came back after falling a set down to take the No. 1 match against Aidan Hsu 2-6, 7-6 (73), 1-0 (12-10).
