Sleet, snow and ice to arrive, causing tricky driving conditions
DAYTON — A white Christmas Day is still on the way, but Miami Valley residents will have to wade through some sleet and ice first.
A mix of snow with freezing rain or sleet is expected before 11 a.m. today. Icing should be light, but motorists need to be mindful. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.
Tonight there’s a chance of snow and freezing drizzle. Lows will be around 28.
Snow will be here on Christmas Day, said Jamie Simpson, WHIOTV meteorologist. “Maybe a couple of inches, enough for Christmas to be white,” he said. Computer models used by the National Weather Service suggest some accumulation up to a few inches, but it’s too early to tell.
