Troy de­fense tough against Beaver­creek

Troy de­feated Beaver­creek 49-38 in a girls high school bas­ket­ball game Mon­day.

Beaver­creek (1-4) lost de­spite 18 points from Jacey Hardinstei­n.

Troy (4-2) was led by Mor­gan Tay­lor, who scored 12 points. Kris­ten Wood had nine points and six as­sists. Troy’s Ju­lia Wood had nine points and 10 re­bounds.

Troy’s de­fense held Beaver­creek to four field goals and 14 points in the sec­ond half.

Bell­brook 66, Val­ley View 27: Erin Dorn led Bell­brook with 19 points. She had four 3-point­ers.

Gabrielle Et­ter had 12 points, five re­bounds and five as­sists. Kelly Neu­mann had nine re­bounds.

Bell­brook (5-0) has stayed un­de­feated thanks to a deep bench, and by av­er­ag­ing more than 60 points per game.

“We’re get­ting good min­utes from ev­ery­body,” Bell­brook coach Ja­son Tincher said. “Our depth has been get­ting bet­ter.”

Kait­lynne House scored eight points to lead Val­ley View (3-3).

Tippeca­noe 60, Te­cum­seh 48: Tipp (5-1) outscored Te­cum­seh 20-6 in the third quar­ter to put the game away.

Four Tipp play­ers scored in dou­ble fig­ures, led by Erica Comer with 16 points. El­lise Sharpe and Bre­anna Stucke scored 14.

Bianca Quisen­berry scored 24 points to lead Te­cum­seh (4-3).

Wayne 54, Greenon 21: Angie Clark led Wayne (6-1) with 18 points.

Tri-County North 41, Ea­ton 39: The Ea­gles had a chance to send the game to over­time off a re­bound from a missed 1-and-1 free throw, but Tri-County North (7-1) kept them from get­ting off a shot.

Emma Spring­mier led Ea­ton (2-6) with 13 points.

Lehman Catholic 52, Sid­ney 44: Jess Thobe had a dou­ble-dou­ble for Lehman (4-2). She scored 13 points and had 12 re­bounds. Lind­sey Spear­man scored 14 points.

Kon­ner Har­ris led Sid­ney with 19 points.
