Troy defense tough against Beavercreek
Troy defeated Beavercreek 49-38 in a girls high school basketball game Monday.
Beavercreek (1-4) lost despite 18 points from Jacey Hardinstein.
Troy (4-2) was led by Morgan Taylor, who scored 12 points. Kristen Wood had nine points and six assists. Troy’s Julia Wood had nine points and 10 rebounds.
Troy’s defense held Beavercreek to four field goals and 14 points in the second half.
Bellbrook 66, Valley View 27: Erin Dorn led Bellbrook with 19 points. She had four 3-pointers.
Gabrielle Etter had 12 points, five rebounds and five assists. Kelly Neumann had nine rebounds.
Bellbrook (5-0) has stayed undefeated thanks to a deep bench, and by averaging more than 60 points per game.
“We’re getting good minutes from everybody,” Bellbrook coach Jason Tincher said. “Our depth has been getting better.”
Kaitlynne House scored eight points to lead Valley View (3-3).
Tippecanoe 60, Tecumseh 48: Tipp (5-1) outscored Tecumseh 20-6 in the third quarter to put the game away.
Four Tipp players scored in double figures, led by Erica Comer with 16 points. Ellise Sharpe and Breanna Stucke scored 14.
Bianca Quisenberry scored 24 points to lead Tecumseh (4-3).
Wayne 54, Greenon 21: Angie Clark led Wayne (6-1) with 18 points.
Tri-County North 41, Eaton 39: The Eagles had a chance to send the game to overtime off a rebound from a missed 1-and-1 free throw, but Tri-County North (7-1) kept them from getting off a shot.
Emma Springmier led Eaton (2-6) with 13 points.
Lehman Catholic 52, Sidney 44: Jess Thobe had a double-double for Lehman (4-2). She scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds. Lindsey Spearman scored 14 points.
Konner Harris led Sidney with 19 points.
