Immigrant-friendly website launched

Welcome Dayton has launched its website that highlights and explains the city’s goal of being immigrant-friendly.

The website, www.welcomedayton.org, looks at many of the diverse groups that now call Dayton home. City leaders have said such legal immigration can help turn around the city’s dwindling population.

In addition, such groups bring new cultures and traditions to the city. They also have reclaimed neighborhoods, rehabilitated houses and started new businesses.

The Miamisburg school board is scheduled to begin a special meeting at 6 p.m. tonight to discuss the employment and compensation of Tammy Emrick, treasurer and chief financial officer for the district. The board is expected to go into an executive session for this discussion. No
