The final game of the series against South Bend, at 7 tonight, will feature an entertainm­ent act called the “Zooperstar­s!” It’s an “outrageous, zany, and unpredicta­ble group of inflatable animalisti­c superstars.”

The Zooperstar­s! return for a game against Kane County on July 21.

Following tonight’s game, more than 700 local Boy Scouts will camp overnight in the outfield. The movie “Sandlot” will be shown on the scoreboard.

Cincinnati Moeller defeated Grove City 3-2 in a high school Division I baseball state semifinal on Thursday.

The Crusaders turned three singles, a walk and an error into three runs in the second inning and that was all the offense that pitcher Brian Burkhart would need.

Grove City (25-3) was ranked No. 1 in the state. Moeller (25-5) was ranked No. 2. Moeller will play Westlake on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Huntington Park for a shot at its sixth D-I state championsh­ip.

Columbus St. Francis DeSales 3, Mentor Lake Catholic 0: Columbus St. Francis DeSales will return to defend its D-II title after shutting out Lake Catholic. Senior righthande­r Nick Eltzroth tossed the three-hit shutout, striking out five to improve his record to 5-1.

DeSales (25-6) will meet up with Wapakoneta (255) in the D-II state title game at 10 a.m. Saturday at Huntington Park.
