Defensive tackle Hill finished for Seattle

Late-season star suffered calf injury while working out.

The Seattle Seahawks will be without defensive tackle Jordan Hill for the postseason after he suffered a severe calf injury while working out last weekend.

Coach Pete Carroll announced Hill’s injury Tuesday, and the team placed him on injured reserve. Hill suffered a knee sprain in the season )inale against St. Louis, but was in the process of coming back when he injured his calf.

Hill had 5½ sacks in the )inal six games of the regular season and a key intercepti­on in the )inale against St. Louis.

The Seahawks signed safety Steven Terrell off the practice squad to take Hill’s spot on the 53-man roster and added defensive tackle Jimmy Staten to the practice squad.

Seattle will also be without backup safety Jeron Johnson (elbow).

In other injury news, quarterbac­k Aaron Rodgers said his left calf is better after getting treatment during Green Bay’s bye week. The Packers were off Tuesday, and Rodgers will be re-evaluated today to determine the practice plan for the rest of the week.

Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum was named Miami’s executive vice president of football operations. GM Dennis Hickey will report to Tannenbaum.

A lawyer for team sack leader Junior Galette said a woman accusing the player of battery actually was scratched by a dog that was reacting to her yelling. Galette and a cousin were arrested Monday after a 22-year-old woman alleged the men assaulted her during an argument.

The Players Associatio­n’s petition to have running back Adrian Peterson’s suspension overturned will be heard in federal court Feb. 6.
