‘Outlander’ is back with 8 episodes

“Outlander” — Finally, it’s time to get back to the gorgeous Scottish Highlands and the second half of Season 1 of this lavish drama that spans the genres of science fiction, history and adventure. Over the next eight episodes, expect more moody intrigue and, of course, some steamy love scenes between time-traveling World War II battlefiel­d nurse Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) and her new husband, 18th-century Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). 9 p.m. Saturday, Starz.

The stars come out as the iHeartRadi­o Music Awards celebrates the year’s top hits. Sam Smith and Iggy Azalea lead the pack with five nomination­s each, while Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande are right behind with four. 8 p.m., NBC.

“Killing Jesus” is the latest film based on a Bill O’Reilly whodunit-style bestseller. It’s a three-hour drama that examines the “political, social and historical collusions” that led to Jesus’ crucifixio­n. 8 p.m., National Geographic Channel.

It may not be the easiest thing to watch, but “Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies” is a vital six-hour film from Ken Burns and Barak Goodman that charts the history of the disease and examines the status of cancer research and treatment. 9 p.m., PBS.

Cote de Pablo (“NCIS”) returns to prime time in “The Dovekeeper­s.” It’s a two-part historical romance about a group of courageous women struggling to survive during the Siege of Masada in 70 A.D. 9 p.m., CBS.

“Weird Loners” is a quirky new sitcom about four single people who are unexpected­ly thrown together in a New York townhouse. 9:30 p.m., Fox.

On “Hawaii Five-0,” Grover (Chi McBride) works a highly emotional case involving a dear friend (guest star Mykelti Williamson), who might have a dark side that Grover never suspected. Could he be a killer? 9 p.m., CBS.
