Man shot while walking dog Friday Man killed on I-75, diving under truck

A man walking his dog outside of the Studio 6 motel on Springboro Pike in Miami Twp. was shot early Friday morning.

The assailants were described as a male and a female in a blue four-door Honda. The shooting happened just before 4 a.m.

The victim was able to talk to police and give them informatio­n. He was taken to the hospital. Whitehall.

According to WBNS reports, the officer heard a family screaming about a medical emergency.

The officer approached and a dog came at him. Investigat­ors told WBNS the officer shot the dog and a stray bullet hit the child.

The 4-year-old girl in being treated at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

A 27-year-old West Chester Twp. man ran down Interstate 75 Friday morning and threw himself under a passing box truck, where he was struck and killed, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported at 8:40 a.m. on I-75 north between the Cincinnati-Dayton Road and Tylersvill­e Road exits.

Multiple calls to 911 relayed the man had no shirt or shoes, and could be seen running down the ramp from northbound I-75 from Tylersvill­e Road in a pair of camouflage shorts.

“He actually jumped underneath a truck when the truck was stopping and now he’s just running down the highway,” one caller said.

After avoiding that first truck, the man ran less than a mile down the busy interstate before diving beneath the right rear axle of a 2016 Internatio­nal box truck, where he was struck and killed, according to Ohio State Trooper Chad Smith.

The highway initially was shut down, then partially reopened to include the left berm and left lane. The Butler County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. All lanes of traffic were open by 10: 35 a.m.
