Homearama has something for all
A High Performance new home performs as a system and makes the best use of the materials and various mechanical components.
The 2015 Homearama Touring Edition presented by Vectren continues through June 28 showcasing 16 fabulous homes and communities throughout the Miami Valley. The featured HBA of Dayton Builders is pleased to present these unique, new homes for the first — and possibly only — time. Many of the homes have already been sold so this will be the only chance for the public to view. This show has many special aspects. A high-performance home, lifestyle homes, a mansion built in 1931, and tiny houses are just a few of the showcased specialties.
A new home is more energy and resource-efficient and comfortable than an older home. Improvements in construction materials, installation methods and much more efficientmechanical equipment have increased the value of new homes and make it difficult to compare to an older home. Because of the new home’s efficient construction, it will cost the homeowners less to operate with tremendous savings in energy, water and sewage costs.
A couple of home-building industry terms the home-buying public will need to better understand are High Performance Homes and a HER’s (Home Energy Rating System) rating.
