Rusty’s Ride set for Sept. 12

The 24th Annual Rusty’s Ride will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. The ride is presented by the Xenia HOG Chapter at Buckminn’s D&D Harley-Davidson, in memory of Buckminn’s employee Rusty Shearer.

Riders of all makes of motorcycle­s and their passengers are invited to join the scenic ride, which also features food and prizes.

Proceeds benefit the Greene County Community Health Foundation’s Holiday Project, which provides Christmas gifts to needy families.

The ride begins and ends at Buckminn’s D&D, 1213 Cincinnnat­i Ave. in Xenia. Registrati­on begins at 10 a.m., with the last bike out at noon. The first 250 will receive a free Rusty’s Ride bandana. Riders will return to Buckminn’s for lunch, door prizes, raffles, live auction and music. Non-riders are welcome to purchase raffle tickets and bid on auction items.

The cost is $20 for a rider and $10 for a passenger.

Some of the eligible projects included in the program are: repairing or replacing HVAC, new roof, sewer line repair, windows, siding and electrical.
