Christmas runs deeperthanholiday
The religious celebration of Christmas started in 354 CE and did not take hold in America until the early 1800s. Religious significance continues to diminish over the years while creative product marketing gives us a Jolly Old Man in a red suit, Rudolph the red nose reindeer and songs like; “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas.” Hopefully, we will never forget Christmas runs deeper than a festive holiday.
It’s about promoting trust, which is the principle element, for establishing peaceful coexistence in our secular world today; however, it is also naive to believe every weapon should be confiscated and replaced with unquestionable faith in everyone.
We must continue arming ourselves in the unforeseeable future while building convictions towards peaceful coexistence and quality of life for everyone.
Displaying such reliance on each other during the Christmas season is an encouraging omen for solving problematic issues separating citizens today — culture, race, religion — that can only be resolved by choosing strong, unbiased social and political leaders who love this country above selfish ambitions.
Christmas season is a good time to reassess our intolerant views of others and promote harmony. Always graciously extend your hand to understand and improve human behavior on a world, and/or individual scale, while supporting our national sovereignty.

Speak up Once again, by not looking at the social media of people applying for visas into the United States, the Obama administration has displayed its ineptness, incompetence and the fact that we have a president that is in way over his head.
There’s some very dangerous and inflammatory saber rattling talk by the Republican candidates for president and that should make the American people very cautious about them and the possibility that they would draw the United States in to another Iraq.
Re “Security, Islamic State fight focus of debate,” Dec. 16: The faces Donald Trump makes while other candidates are speaking during the debates make him look like a juvenile; surely not presidential.
