Key vote set for Warren event center plan Planners are expected to give the go-ahead tonight for construction of the $3 million center to be built at the Warren County Fairgrounds.
Local planners are expected to give the go-ahead tonight for construction of the $3 million event center to be built at the Warren County Fairgrounds.
Architects hired to design the 18,000 square foot event center on land where grandstands stood until demolition earlier this year have been working since late May to satisfy requirements for a conditional use permit required for the project.
City staff has recommended the Lebanon Planning Commission conditionally approve McGill Smith Punshon’s latest plans for the event center.
Among the conditions: The county is to stripe 541 parking spaces before an occupancy permit is approved.
The original plans were submitted on May 30, but pulled from a July planning commission meeting to do more work on the design of the site, parking
lot and stormwater management requirements.
Conger Construction Group was selected in August for the project.
The county still hopes to complete the construction by next June, in time for the Warren County Fair in July 2018.
“The goal is to have items constructed by the fair, but certain weather conditions will be outside of our control,” Deputy Administrator Martin Russell said in an email.
The planning commission meeting begins at 7 p.m. with a public hearing at city hall, 50 S. Broadway in Lebanon.
