2 and Ch. 5: It’s been 18 months since Kurt, Jane, Patterson (Sullivan Stapleton, Jaimie Alexander, Ashley Johnson) and the rest of the FBI crew were forced to part company under circumstan­ces that still seem a bit mysterious as the action thriller opens Season 3 with an episode called “Back to the Grind.” As that title suggests, as the story resumes, the team is called to reassemble to confront a new crisis. Mary Stuart Masterson guest stars; Rob Brown and Audrey Esparza also star.

Michael Jackson’s Halloween, 8 PM on Ch. 7 and

Ch. 12: Anyone who knows music superstar Jackson’s songs surely is aware of his huge success with the tune “Thriller,” which more or less is the inspiratio­n for this seasonal new animated special produced by his estate. Lucas Till (“MacGyver”) and Kiersey Clemons (“Flatliners”) voice characters who get big revelation­s when they meet at a strange hotel on Halloween. The star-packed voice cast also includes Jim Parsons, Christine Baranski, Alan Cumming, Brad Garrett and Lucy Liu.

Live From Lincoln Center, 9 PM on Ch. 48; 2 AM on Ch.

16 and Ch. 48: Set during the height of the AIDS crisis in New York, William Finn’s tart but poignant musical “Falsettos” is presented in a 2016 Broadway limited engagement that earned a Tony Award nomination as best musical revival as well as nods for four of its performers. The story follows Marvin (Christian Borle), who comes out as gay as he approaches middle age and leaves his wife and young son (Stephanie J. Block, Anthony Rosenthal) to be with the younger Whizzer (Andrew Rannells).
