Christmas for Tots to reach out locally

- STAFF REPORT

Lebanon’s Christmas for Tots gives gifts to children in need at Christmas time. Christmas for Tots is not affiliated with any group that advertise on TV and radio during the holiday season.

It is solely a local organization that only assists families within the Lebanon School District.

This organization gives the donations received to Lebanon children.

This year, they are collecting new toys with a value of $15 or monetary contributions.

Children from infant to age 14 benefit from the program.

The organization has been in existence for 49 years.

Last year, 285 families were helped and 750 children received toys.

Families interested in receiving assistance from this group must submit a letter to their address and must reside within the Lebanon school district.

Applications are also available at the Lebanon Food Pantry on New Street.

Volunteers are needed in the collection, wrapping and distribution of the toys and many area businesses, service groups and individuals give of their time and finances each year.

Toy Distribution Day will be Saturday, Dc. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers are needed from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Lunch will be available at noon.

Monetary donations may be sent to their address.

Toy donations may be placed in their barrels at the Countryside YMCA, the Lebanon Public Library and the main office of Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
