EA Madden NFL 18 Challenge, 8 PM on Ch. 26: The CW has recognized the gaming culture fairly regularly with specials, and this new one is another example. It follows the eight players who made the finals of the competition inspired by the Madden NFL 18 video game — named for legendary NFL coach turned sportscaster John Madden — as the event was staged in Los Angeles recently. A total prize of $150,000 was available, and the skills shown here determined which players ended up getting which amount of that award.

The Librarians, 8 PM on TNT; 10 PM on TNT: In the new episode “And the Bleeding Crown,” Flynn (Noah Wyle) unexpectedly slips into full-blown fanboy mode when Darrington Dare, a favorite Librarian hero, appears from the past to help the presentday team take down a powerful ancient enemy who has been unleashed into the modern world. Before Dare leaves his new companions, though, he issues a dire warning that he says they ignore at their peril: There can be only one Librarian. Another new episode follow

Movie: Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, 9 PM on Ch. 2 and Ch. 5: A sequel to the high-rated “Coat of Many Colors,” this 2016 drama movie continues the saga inspired by a song by Parton, who’s an executive producer here.
