This school year, four juniors and four seniors at Jefferson Township Jr./Sr. High School are on track to earn associate degrees through the College Credit Plus Program.
The juniors are Alexis Banks, Antwynae Boyd, D’Arrionna Calahan and Chanelle Works. The seniors are Kristopher Benson, Kennami Stewart, Rory Tigler, and Maur’yana Woodruff.
Alexis Banks, 17, is on track to receive her associate of art degree. Alexis recently received her State Tested Nurses Aid Certification (STNA). She plans to work on her bachelor’s degree next year as a senior. Upon graduating from Jefferson in 2019, she plans to attend Wright State University and wants to become a pediatric nurse.
Antwynae Boyd, 16, is on track to receive her associate of art degree. She plans on attending Wright State to work on her bachelor’s degree next year as a senior. Upon graduating from Jefferson in 2019, she plans to attend Ohio State University to study law and wants to become an attorney.
D’Arrionna Calahan, 16, is on track to receive her associate of art degree. She plans to work on her bachelor’s degree next year as a senior. Upon graduating from Jefferson in 2019, she plans to attend Wright State and wants to work in the dental field.
Chanelle Works, 16, is on track to receive her associate of art degree. She is debating between working on her bachelor’s next year as a senior or utilizing her associate degree for an internship. She plans to attend the University of Cincinnati and wants to go into a field where she can help others.
Kristopher Benson, 17, is on track to receive his associate of art degree. Kristopher plans to attend Wright State and major in pre-med. He wants to become an anesthesiologist.
Kennami Stewart, 18, is on track to receive her associate of science degree and plans to attend West Virginia State University and major in biotechnology.
Rory Tigler, 17, is on track to receive her associate of art degree. Rory also recently received her State Tested Nurses Aid Certification (STNA) and plans to attend Wright State to become a registered nurse.
Maur’yana Woodruff, 17, is on track to receive her associate of art degree. She plans to attend Butler University and wants to become an athletic trainer.
The rigorous coursework associated with College Credit Plus is challenging as well as fulfilling. Our students are charting an impressive course for their academic, professional and personal future. Our outstanding students have shown tenacity and worked hard while achieving their goals.
Jefferson Township is setting a trend of advanced learning and commendable accomplishments, and we plan for this trend to be a common occurrence. Parents, teachers, staff, and upcoming students are supportive and proud of the wonderful opportunity College Credit Plus offers. The success of our program in the past is the springboard for this year and beyond. When our students succeed, we all succeed.
