Versace story gets the Murphy-O.J. treatment

Don’t miss: “The Assassinat­ion of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”: After a mesmerizin­g look back at the O.J. Simpson murder case, this anthology series from prolific producer Ryan Murphy turns its attention to the 1997 murder of fashion icon Gianni Versace (Edgar Ramirez). Darren Criss (“Glee”) delivers an astonishin­g performanc­e as troubled spree-killer Andrew Cunanan, whose path of destructio­n landed him on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List even before he shot Versace on the steps outside of his Miami Beach mansion. The cast also features Penelope Cruz and Ricky Martin. 10 p.m. Wednesday, FX.

Today: Can you believe “Family Guy” is airing its 300th episode tonight? Yeah, neither can we. 9 p.m., Fox.

Today: Jenna Coleman returns as the title character in a new season of “Victoria.” She plays the young 19th century queen who wants it all — romance, power, an heir and personal freedom. Also, Diana Rigg joins the cast. 9 p.m., PBS.

Today: As Season 2 of “Divorce” begins, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) are trying to rebuild their lives independen­tly in the aftermath of their turbulent separation. But it’s more complicate­d than they imagined. 10 p.m., HBO.

Monday: In the two-hour season finale of “The Gifted,” Dr. Campbell attends an anti-mutant summit, attempting to take the Hound program national, and some of the team at Mutant HQ goes on a dangerous mission to stop his efforts. 8 p.m., Fox.

Monday: “Chain of Command” is an intimate, eight-part documentar­y series that shadows U.S. military leaders and fighters Want to know even more about what’s worth watching this week? Producers promise “unpreceden­ted access” to armed forces and the Pentagon. 9 p.m., National Geographic.

Tuesday: “Black Lightning” brings some needed diversity to the superhero genre. Cress Williams stars as Jefferson Pierce, a man who uses his secret power — he can control electricit­y — to keep his hometown streets safe from evildoers. 9 p.m., The CW.

Wednesday: “Relative Success With Tabatha” is a new unscripted series that has the no-nonsense Tabatha Coffey working to help flagging family businesses from fading into oblivion. 10 p.m., Bravo.

Thursday: Get ready to bid farewell to “Portlandia.” The wildly offbeat comedy series starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein returns for its final season. New guest stars include Rachel Bloom, John Corbett, Terry Crews, Rashida Jones and more. 10 p.m., IFC.

Friday: “High Maintenanc­e” is the rare show that can both make you laugh and give you the munchies. Ben Sinclair returns as The Guy, a bearded, pot-dealing deliveryma­n whose growing clientele is keeping him busier than ever. 11 p.m., HBO.

Saturday: Prepare yourself for another visual feast. “Planet Earth: Blue Planet II,” the latest installmen­t of the nature series, takes viewers on a revelatory journey deep into the mesmerizin­g world of our oceans. 9 p.m., BBC America, AMC, IFC, WEtv and Sundance TV.
