Five Rivers wants to know what health care gaps need filling after Good Sam shuts.

Residents who live in the neighborhoods surrounding Good Samaritan Hospital are invited to give feedback at a series of upcoming focus groups.

Five Rivers Health Centers, a nonprofit network of community health centers, will remain at its headquarters in northwest Dayton after Good Samaritan closes later this year. Five Rivers leadership now wants input on what the community’s health care needs are and what gaps could need filling after the hospital closes.

Five Rivers is exploring whether it could expand its own services or work with another community group to expand services in the neighborhood after the hospital closes. Five Rivers, with a $19 million annual budget, served about 25,000 patients last year across its network.

Residents in the neighborhoods near Good Samaritan Hospital can attend one of the following focus group sessions at the Five Rivers Family Health Center at 2261 Philadelphia Drive:

■ 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 19. Participants should RSVP by Wednesday, March 14.

■ 12 p.m. March 20. Participants should RSVP by Friday, March 16.

■ 5:30 p.m. March 23. Participants should RSVP by Monday, March 19.

Each session will last about an hour and a half and includes a meal and gift card. All focus group participants will have their names entered into a larger gift card drawing.

Residents do not need to be a current Five Rivers Health Centers patient to participate in the focus group sessions.
