Fairborn man to face murder, other charges

- Staff Reports

Montgomery County prosecutors approved multiple charges Friday against two people suspected in several Dayton-area crimes.

Joshua Beall, 29, of Fairborn, has been charged with two counts of murder in the killing of Donald E. Armstrong III in a Maryland Avenue apartment in Dayton on Wednesday night, as well as a single count of attempted murder, felonious assault, complicity to commit robbery, and having weapons as a felon. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

Casey Cole, 19, of Seaman, will be charged with robbery, according to the prosecutor’s office. She remains in the Hamilton County Jail, records showed Friday afternoon.

The charges against them could be added to or changed once the cases are presented to a grand jury.

Dayton police identified Beall as a suspect in a Maryland Avenue homicide, which occurred a few hours before a pursuit involving a stolen car in Huber Heights. That pursuit ended in a crash on Glendale-Milford Road at Wyscarver Drive where Beall and Cole were arrested.

Beall will be arraigned Monday on charges stemming from the carjacking. Those charges include aggravated robbery, grand theft of a motor vehicle and having weapons as a felon.

Beall is also suspected of robbing the Unity National Bank in Troy last week, Troy Police said Thursday afternoon.

Franklin police had previously said they suspected the robber in the Troy case was the same man who robbed a Union Savings Bank on May 25, however they have not confirmed whether Beall is the person they were looking for.

Cole was named a suspect in a robbery at Oakwood’s LCNB Bank on Far Hills Avenue Wednesday afternoon, Oakwood Public Safety Director Alan Hill said.

Sharonville Police listed Beall and Cole as suspects in the robbery of a U.S. Bank location inside a Meijer. The branch was robbed twice in the span of four days, Beavercreek Police said.
