Ice cream truck driver dies following crash

The driver of an ice cream truck involved in a crash Friday on Bellefontaine Road in Huber Heights died from his injuries, police said.

The driver, identified as Jerry Gerner, 53, of Enon, was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital after the June 1 crash but died from his injuries later that day, police said.

The driver of the sedan, identified as Timothy Yerion, 37, and one of the children in the sedan, a 5-year-old girl, have been treated and released from area hospitals.
