River Kleeners look for volunteers

- STAFF REPORT

The Little Miami River Kleeners invite you to participate in their annual River Festival celebrating the Little Miami River and volunteers that help to clean the river annually. The River Cleanup will be Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. along the Little Miami River.

The River Festival, which is open to everyone, will take place at Bellbrock Park in downtown Bellbrook from 1 to 4 p.m. This year’s festival and clean up are even more special as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Scenic River Act. This Act helped bring the need of sustainable clean water sources and environmental change to the forefront of many people’s minds. More information about the Festival can be found at www. bellbrooksugarcreekparks. org or by calling 937-8483535. If you are interested in volunteering to clean up the river visit: www.mylittlemiami.org.

A full list of Local vendors and groups that are participating at this year’s festival can be found on www.bellbrooksugarcreekparks.org or Facebook at “Little Miami River Kleeners.” Vendors will have activities for the public and information available for anyone interested. The band “Spill the Wine” will be performing throughout the event. A free catered lunch by Fresh Thyme Farmers Market will be available during festival hours. Raffle prizes from local businesses will also be available to help raise money for next year’s events.
