Planning commission
The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission will hold a public participation meeting regarding a long-range transportation plan Amendment. The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, 10 N. Ludlow St., Suite 700, Courthouse Square.
The 2040 LRTP is being amended to establish conformity and reflect changes in scope or feasibility timeframe to existing LRTP projects being proposed for amendments in the SFY 20182021 Transportation Improvement Program. The amendment is needed as a result of a recent U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit decision, which struck down portions of the 2008 Ozone, National Ambient Air Quality Standards State Implementation Plan Requirements Rule concerning the ozone NAAQS as well as the anti-backsliding requirements associated with the revocation of the 1997 Ozone NAAQS.
The amended plan will remain fiscally constrained and the regional emissions analyses results indicate that the 2040 LRTP and TIP demonstrate conformity to the PM2.5 and 8-hour ozone standard consistent with the April 2012 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Transportation Conformity Regulations. The complete documentation on the amendment can be found at mvrpc.org/transportation/current-long-rangeplan/lrtp-amendments. You can also review the materials at the MVRPC offices during regular business hours. Written comments will be accepted through Aug. 24 at the MVRPC offices, web address or via email to Ana Ramirez, MVRPC’s director of long range planning & engineering, at aramirez@mvrpc.org.
