Elder-Beerman adds extra discounts in sales

-

Elder-Beerman has announced deeper discounts as its parent company Bon-Ton moves into the last month of liquidation for all of its brands.

Elder-Beerman has announced sales between 60 and 80 percent storewide.

The company that started in Dayton is also offering 10 percent off an entire purchase at checkout through Aug. 31, the last day of liquidation sales.

Several store managers at Dayton-area stores including those at the Mall at Fairfield Commons and Dayton Malls said they have heard they will remain open until the Aug. 31 deadline.

But other stores nationwide are expected to close before then.

Scott Carpenter, vice president of retail solutions for the Great American Group, the company hired to liquidate Bon-Ton stores, said some stores could begin closing as early as three to four weeks from July 2.

This news organization has reached out to Carpenter to see if and how many stores have closed since then.

There are Elder-Beerman locations in Piqua, Huber Heights and Kettering as well as the region’s two largest malls: Dayton Mall and the Mall at Fairfield Commons.
