County gets $17K
The Miami County commissioners accepted a onetime dividend check from the County Risk Sharing Authority (CORSA) on July 24.
CORSA is an insurance pool for counties across the state formed in the 1980s when counties were experiencing difficulties getting insurance. It is a program of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio.
John Brownlee, CORSA managing director, and other organization representatives attended a brief meeting with the commissioners. Brownlee said the organization has grown from nine to 66 counties today with an equity position of in excess of $95 million. This year, the CORSA board agreed to give back a onetime dividend to member counties.
Miami County’s portion of the dividend was $17,310. NANCY BOWMAN, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
