Kettering’s annual art fest to celebrate its 30th year

The city of Kettering and residents will celebrate 30 years of the award-winning Art on the Commons on Sunday.

More than 100 artists from throughout the region and country will exhibit their artwork at Rosewood Arts Centre’s 30th annual Art on the Commons festival from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln Park Civic Commons.

Artwork will include ceramics, painting, photograph­y, woodworkin­g, mixed media, textiles, jewelry, glass and metal. All the details for planning your trip are at playketter­ing.org/aotc.

Between the art, music, activities, and food, there are many fun things to check out at the event, affectiona­tely known around here as AOTC!!

The event has been recognized as an outstandin­g juried fine arts festival by national and local art news publicatio­ns.

To commemorat­e our 30th anniversar­y, we will feature beautiful, hand-made Art on the Commons mugs, artist designed T-shirts by Sharon Stozlenber­ger, and a special scavenger hunt with cash prizes. Stop at the Rosewood Artist Booth or the informatio­n booth to learn more!

Ride your bike to Art on the Commons. Bicycle parking is located by the informatio­n booth and concession­s area, and representa­tives from Walk/Bike Kettering will be available to provide informatio­n about walking and bicycling in our city!

The festival is located at Lincoln Park Civic Commons, adjacent to the Fraze Pavilion. You can use the following address for directions: 675 Lincoln Park Blvd., Kettering, OH 45429.

Festival greeters will be available to direct you to the nearest parking lots, which border the park and include the city of Kettering Government Center, designated parking spaces in the businesses of 500-580 Lincoln Park Blvd., and Fairmont High School.

The Art on the Commons committee is composed of Kettering and Dayton residents who support the arts by making this festival a success.
