MacAulay Brown granted $47M Air Force contract

Beavercree­k-based MacAulay-Brown Inc. has been awarded a $47 million task order by the U.S. Air Force for technical assistance in weapons testing and analysis work.

The four-year prime award continues the work of the firm — sometimes called “MacB” — over the last five years, the company said in a release.

The objective is to improve test and evaluation strategy developmen­t and analysis for all Department of Defense weapon systems programs, MacB said in its release. Most of the work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Principal engineers, senior technology specialist­s, scientists and program managers from MacB’s Advanced Technology Group will work for more than 40 major weapons developmen­t efforts, the business said.

MacB has some 1,500 employees worldwide — including about 450 in the Dayton area. said she received a $10,000 grant from the Miami Valley Community Action Partnershi­p to expand her shop, which now sells natural based products for hair and skin care.

Ramsey said the stylists will be focused on styling curly and afro-textured hair, braiding, locs and educating clients on how to care for their natural hair.

“I’m so honored that the county supports and believes in Puff,” Ramsey said in a press release. “It’s a true indicator that the city supports Black owned businesses and strives to be inclusive as Dayton and Montgomery County continue to see exciting developmen­ts.”

Ramsey is anticipati­ng a soft launch in October and a grand opening in February, and is now starting a wait list for the services. The business launched last year in the St. Clair Lofts building at 37 S. Saint Clair St.
