A longtime Springfield Harley-Davidson dealership has a new owner based in Northwest Ohio, with plans to grow the business.

Mid-Ohio Harley-Davidson, 2100 Quality Lane in Springfield, was recently purchased by Jim and Lynn Loomis, who also own dealerships in Napoleon, Plain City and Piqua. They finalized an agreement to buy the Springfield location earlier this month, said Shelly Kelly, director of marketing for Napoleon Harley-Davidson. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Kelly said Mid-Ohio Harley has developed a good relationship with its customers over the past fewdecadesand the new owners plan to continue to provide reliable service. She said the Springfield location was attractive because there is an opportunity for growth.

“It’s been in the same family for many years and when you have that consistency in taking care of your customers, it shows,” Kelly said of the Springfield store. “Lynn and Jim plan to continue that tradition by staying true to our code of service.”

According to its website, MidOhio Harley was founded in 1988 by Brian Cubbage, his sister Melody Ude and his brother-in-law Roland Ude. The location was also a Harley-Davidson dealership before that. The Springfield dealership outgrew a handful of locations and moved to its current facility around 2000.

Kelly said the name of the Springfield location is changing to Revved Up Harley-Davidson. She said the Springfield location is also looking for additional employees.

“Jim and Lynn are looking to grow the Harley-Davidson brand and riders,” Kelly said. “They believe in the business and offering great products and the best service around.”

The new owners started their first dealership in Napoleon in 2011. They bought the Piqua location in 2015 and the Plain City dealership in 2017. Including Springfield, Kelly said the four locations employ about 110 people.

The locations all offer new and used motorcycle sales, clothing, parts and accessories and ser-

vice. The Napoleon, Piqua and Plain City locations offer new rider classes. She said all four stores will look for ways to attract younger rid- ers to develop a new generation of customers.

“Harley-Davidson offers many great models that appeal to the younger rider along with Riding Academy classes to help them on their journey to become Harley riders,” Kelly said. “There are great new models coming in the next few years that are going to be exciting additions to the Harley-Davidson family of vehicles.”
