Enjoy free concerts
Enjoy live music at the Dayton Metro Library in a wide variety of musical performances scheduled this fall, from classic jazz to a Japanese choir. All of the concerts are free and open to the public.
The Second Sunday Music Series focuses on world music, with informal performances from 2 to 3:30 p.m. the second Sunday of each month.
September’s concert is the Japanese choral group Harmony of Japan. This allwomen group performs popular and traditional Japanese songs.
On Stage @ The Eichelberger Forum returns with free lunchtime concerts on select Fridays. Jazz vocalist Duante Beddingfield kicks off the series in September, collaborating with the Randy Villars Trio.
“For those who work downtown, a casual concert can be a great midday escape,” said Julie Buchanan, library programming manager. “These free concerts welcome people into the Eichelberger Forum, where they can bring their lunch and a friend, grab a seat, and enjoy some great music before returning to work.”
■ Second Sunday Music Series: Sundays, 2-3:30 p.m., Main Library. Sept. 9: Harmony of Japan, a Japanese traditional women’s choral group. ■ On Stage @ The Eichelberger Forum: Fridays, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Main Library, Eichelberger Forum. Sept. 28: Duante Beddingfield featuring The Randy Villars Trio.
