Girl, 14, tortured before being killed with father

- By Justin Madden

Every room of the Bradley house in Bedford was covered in gasoline.

A 14-yearold EAST CLEVELAND — girl whose body was discovered next to her father’s body in the backseat of a smoldering rental car in East Cleveland was tortured before her death, East Cleveland police said.

Paris Bradley was pulled from her bed while she slept at her father’s Bedford home after midnight Wednesday and was tortured to get information, Commander Scott Gardner told cleveland.com.

Investigators have not said what type of information the assailants were trying to get from the girl, but said whoever broke into the home left it in complete disarray.

Paris and her father, Paul Bradley, 39, were found badly burned in the back seat of a silver Buick with New York license plates in a vacant lot in East Cleveland on Wednesday morning, police said.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the father and daughter Saturday, specifying that Paris died of gunshot wounds to the head with skull and brain injuries. The medical examiner did not list the cause of Paul Bradley’s death.

The car was rented in Paul Bradley’s name from a company in Rocky River. It was later traced back to his home in Bedford on Gould Avenue, police said.

Every room in the home was covered in gasoline. The scent of gas could be smelled by reporters from several homes away. Whoever ransacked the house tore sheets from the beds, tossed chairs around various rooms, and there were obvious signs of a struggle, police said.

Authorities believe the incident at the Bradley home happened sometime after midnight Wednesday as the father and daughter were pulled from their beds as they slept, police said.

It’s unclear if someone attempted to burn the home down with the gasoline, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Friday.

Authorities have not provided a motive behind the brutal slayings of the father and daughter or any additional information prior to them being found.

Court records show a criminal history for a man named Paul Bradley dating back to 1998.

Paul Bradley was sentenced to 11 months in jail after he pleaded guilty to drug possession charges in 1998, according to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas court records.

A Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court judge sentenced Paul Bradley to one year community control after he was found guilty of assaulting a police officer in 2004, and two years later, he was sentenced to another three years of community control for having weapons under a disability.
