Man indicted after stabbing, standoff
A Dayton man was indicted Thursday after a police standoff and stabbing last month.
Jimmie W. Acor Jr., 48, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on two counts of felonious assault and domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Police and medics were called Oct. 21 after a 911 caller reported a stabbing at a home in the 600 block of Miami Chapel Road in Dayton.
“I need an ambulance. My dad stabbed his girlfriend three times,” the caller said.
The woman was hospital- ized with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Acor was arrested without incident about nine hours after the stabbing was reported. He remains held in the Montgomery County Jail. to a police report.
No charges have been formally filed, but the woman was trespassed from the store. Police responded to the Brandt Pike store around 2:21 p.m. Thursday.
A store manager told police that video surveillance from Oct. 25 captured the woman checking out $141.99 of groceries at a closed register with an empty till, according to the report.
When she tried to leave without paying, the shop- ping cart’s wheels locked up as part of the store’s secu- rity measures.
The woman then took the groceries and left the store.
The manager also showed police surveillance video of the woman ringing up the groceries and trying to leave, according to the report.
