Small Business Saturday to take place Nov. 24

-

As the holidays approach, please remember to support our local Kettering small businesses, restaurants and service providers. We are fortunate in Kettering to have a wide variety of exceptional small businesses. Whether you need a last-minute gift or a place to share a special holiday meal, Kettering offers so many unique options.

You have a choice each time you buy groceries, go out to eat, shop, use a service technician or craftsperson for your home, and even when you buy gas for your car.

Why not make a commitment that in addition to the giving of gifts this season, you will also give back to the Kettering community by supporting our local retailers? By doing so, you are contributing to the well-being of the Kettering community and the livelihood of your neighbors. center where they will be converted to leaf mulch and compost.

Please remember the following tips for leaf pickup:

Call 296-3255 (FALL) or visit www.ketteringoh.org to find out the current district where crews are completing leaf pick up.

Prior to collection, rake your leaves to the edge of your yard along the curb, but not into the street where they will block traffic and cause a hazard.

Do not bag your leaves or block storm drains.

Make sure leaves are not under, between or around parked cars.

Please don’t rake anything except leaves out to the curb for pick-up. Branches, sticks, grass and other yard waste clog the machinery and throw the crews off schedule.

You may take your tree branches and brush to the City’s Yard Debris Drop-Off Center located on Woodman Center Dr. or place them in your trash toter for pick-up by Waste Management on your normal trash pick-up day.
