BEAVER­CREEK

will be held at 2 p.m. Sun­day at Vet­er­ans Me­mo­rial Park, 1911 N. Fairfield Road. The cer­e­mony will honor and say thank you to all those many Amer­i­cans who have served in the armed forces and those men and women cur­rently de­fend­ing our free­doms and the ideals of our coun­try.

Colonel Thomas P. Sher­man, the 88th Air Base Wing and In­stal­la­tion Com­man­der at Wright Pat­ter­son Air Force Base, will be the guest speaker.

CEN­TER­VILLE

will hold sev­eral events at Cen­ter­ville Library, 111 W. Spring Val­ley Road.

■ Open to­day and Sun­day dur­ing open library hours. This year the ex­hibit will fo­cus on the 1980s to the global War on Ter­ror, and will in­clude a trib­ute to the 100th an­niver­sary of Ar­mistice Day.

Sun­day from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visi­tors and school chil­dren are also en­cour­aged to write thank you cards to our mil­i­tary which will be de­liv­ered to our troops be­fore the Christ­mas hol­i­days. ■ The city of Cen­ter­ville and Cen­ter­ville Vet­er­ans of For­eign Wars (VFW) Post 9550 will hold a cer­e­mony start­ing at

11 a.m. Sun­day at the Vet­er­ans Me­mo­rial at Stubbs Park, 255 West Spring Val­ley Road.

The pro­gram will in­clude re­marks from Mayor Brooks Comp­ton and a key­note ad­dress from Col. Matthew Muha, Mil­i­tary Deputy Di­rec­tor of the Tanker Direc­torate, Air Force Life Cy­cle Man­age­ment Cen­ter (AFLCMC), WrightPat­ter­son Air Force Base.

The ser­vice will also in­clude color guard pre­sen­ta­tions from Cen­ter­ville VFW Post 9550 and the Cen­ter­ville Po­lice and Wash­ing­ton Town­ship Fire depart­ments’ honor guards. In ad­di­tion, there will be mu­si­cal per­for­mances by the Cen­ter­ville Com­mu­nity Cho­rus and the Cen­ter­ville Com­mu­nity Band, and a read­ing by Cen­ter­ville High School stu­dent Yazmin Sou­lati. Cub Scout Pack 148 will lead the Pledge of Al­le­giance.

EN­GLE­WOOD

(MVCTC) is spon­sor­ing the 2nd An­nual MVCTC Vet­er­ans Day Break­fast to­day from 8 to 11 a.m. Area vet­er­ans and their fam­i­lies are in­vited to en­joy a free pan­cake break­fast as a way of say­ing thank you for serv­ing our coun­try. Break­fast will be served in the MVCTC Stu­dent Ac­tiv­ity Cen­ter at 6800 Hoke Road.

MO­RAINE

■ will hold its an­nual Vet­er­ans Event at 11 a.m. to­day at the Mo­raine All Vet­er­ans Me­mo­rial in front of the Mo­raine Mu­nic­i­pal Build­ing, 4200 Dry­den Road. Mayor Elaine Al­li­son will host the fes­tiv­i­ties, which in­clude a guest speaker, recog­ni­tion of en­graved bricks of vet­er­ans, recog­ni­tion of vet­er­ans in at­ten­dance and other ac­tiv­i­ties. MONT­GOMERY COUNTY

will be free Sun­day for Vet­er­ans Day. This free ser­vice in­cludes fixed-route buses any­where through­out the Day­ton tran­sit sys­tem as well as rides on RTA Con­nect, the agency’s ADA para­tran­sit ser­vice. Any­one who is mil­i­tary ac­tive duty, dis­charged (DD214), re­tired, re­serve or holds a VA iden­ti­fi­ca­tion card should show it to the driver upon board­ing to re­ceive a free ride on the Vet­er­ans Day hol­i­day.
