Tipp City holds yuletide event
Are you ready to take a walk through a winter wonderland?
The annual tradition of Yuletide Winter’s Gathering returns to Tipp City’s historical downtown this weekend on Saturday, Nov. 10, and Sunday, Nov. 11, as local business owners show off their shops, restaurants and other offerings.
The annual holiday kickoff event is in its 25th year and is held each year during the second weekend of November.
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The historic district offers more than 35 locally owned boutiques and restaurants with specialties including toys, games, vintage finds and antiques, collectibles, fashions, handmade soaps, home decor, art, jewelry and books. Local shopkeepers are inviting you to kick off the winter shopping season with their annual holiday open house with the Yuletide Winter’s Gathering.
In addition to the open house, some stores will offer sales and others will be unveiling new winter lines.
Holiday-themed items will be available at businesses such as the new Scratch Bakery and the new Topsy Turvy Toys will offer 20 percent off storewide.
Two local authors, Robert Brundett and E. Scott Martin., will be in town for the festivities and on hand

While Tipp City’s annual Yuletide Winter’s Gathering is the perfect event to get a jump start on your holiday shopping, there will also be plenty of free ways to get in the holiday spirit.
Bonuses include free pictures with Santa and horse drawn carriage rides through the four quaint blocks of Main Street.
Photos with Santa Claus will be taken both days at Mauk Cabinets on 131 W. Main St., from noon to 3 p.m. On Sunday, the first hour (noon to 1 p.m.) children with disabilities will get to visit with Santa ahead of other children so they won’t have to wait in the long lines that usually form.
The free photos will be available on the Yuletide Winter’s Gathering Facebook page for the parents to do with them as they please. Photos taken Saturday will be available Monday afternoon, Nov. 12; Sunday photos will be available Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13.
A Trip to Tipp gift bundle giveaway also is being held on the Yuletide Winter’s Gathering Instagram page. The prize pack was put together by the merchants.
