Carriage Inn of Dayton helps seniors achieve and maintain the highest level of independence possible and has been fund-raising for the community for many years. This year is no exception during the Christmas holiday season. The community can visit the Carriage Inn of Dayton, 5040 Philadelphia Drive, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., to get a picture with Santa Claus, enjoy fresh baked goods and milk and relish in the beauty of decorated trees that the guest can bid on throughout the event.
Carriage Inn of Dayton will present a Christmas Spectacular, which welcome one and all to an evening of fun for the whole family. Be dazzled by the numerous beautifully decorated Christmas trees by local businesses, churches and residents that reside in the City of Dayton along the Christmas Tree Walk. All proceeds from the silent auction of the trees will be donated to the Senior Resource Center.
The Senior Resource Center is a non-profit organization that provides services and support to the senior community of Dayton, such as Meals on Wheels, Visiting Home Care and Caregiver Support. The evening will end on a harmonious note with a special touch to the holiday season.
Epiphany Lutheran church, 6430 Far Hills Ave., is sponsoring a Community Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018. Walk-Ins are welcome.

Applicants must be a resident and elector of Huber Heights (registered to vote). Boards and commissions advise the City Council on issues important to the City of Huber Heights. Most positions do not require extensive expertise, just an eagerness to serve.
The Planning Commission reviews and approves all Planned Unit Developments (PUDs), rezoning requests and any new subdivisions. The Planning Commission is the platting agency for the City. The Planning Commission approves and recommends a comprehensive land use plan and an official map of the City to the City Council for review and approval.
