In October, Cooper and Chappelle hosted a private screening for “A Star is Born,” at the Little Art Theatre in Yellow Springs, giving the crowd an inside look at the moviemaking process.
“I can’t wait for everyone to see this movie, man,” Chappelle told the audience. “This movie is real powerful. People don’t know what it’s like to be in entertainment or step on a big stage. This movie really does capture the content of it. It’s gut wrenching up there.”
Cooper told the audience in Yellow Springs the film took about four years to create. He said he wrote the character Noodles with Chappelle in mind.
Robert Redford was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Musical or Comedy, for his role in “The Old Man & the Gun.”
