‘Big Bang’ co-star tells tale of breakup over holidays
Actress’s cats add to the issues, leading her to sleep on the sofa.
“The Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik is newly single and feeling better after her pre-holidays breakup.
Bialik publicly revealed her struggles in an Instagram post on Christmas Eve.
“The government is in a shutdown, it’s Christmas Eve day, I’m newly single and not doing so well to be quite honest,” the 42-yearold actress wrote on Instagram Monday.
“But the most pressing issue right now is that my cats — after 2 years together — have started a dominance war that involves urine and feces. Long story short my bed is not able to be slept in and I’m sleeping on my couch.”
Despite her heartache, Bialik assured everyone the following day that her spirits had lifted.
“Better this morning,” she wrote in Tuesday post. “Couch more comfortable with blanket as substitute sheet. New earrings by my friend’s daughter Iris cheered me up. Cat on meds for kidney infection and hopefully he will be better soon.”
Bialik, who is Jewish, spent Christmas Day eating Chinese food and watching a movie.
The actress — who was formerly married to Michael Stone, but divorced in 2012 after their 9-year marriage — opened up about the difficulties of being newly single during the holidays in a recent blog post.
“My love story is nothing particularly exceptional. I mean, he was — er, is. I was an exceptional iteration of myself with him. For five years in fact. And now it’s over,” the mother of two wrote in the post, published to Groknation on Dec. 18.
“There is rarely good timing for a break up. But most certainly, the worst time is now. In case he is reading this, I’m just meh with this timing. Because say what you will, the holidays are a time to not be recently broken up.”
